While visiting San Juan Puerto Rico I visited the cemetery in old San Juan. I was very surprised to see many magnificent marble statues there. I was inspired to paint some of them. I named them “Moment of Sorrow,” “The Light" and “Daily Meditation”. After I returned home I decided it would be interesting to do monochromatic oil paintings depicting different types of women I have known in statue form. I was in the fashion and cosmetic business for many years and knew many different types of interesting women.
